Introduction:

The Commercial Vehicle Driving program offers extensive hands-on training with the most modern trucks on the road today. Employability and communication skills are an integral part of the program. Good work habits, punctuality, attendance, attitude, and job orientation are stressed throughout training. The purpose of this program is to prepare students for a Class “A” Commercial Driver License

Employment Outlook:

Employment of heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers is projected to grow 5% from 2018 to 2028.

Salary:

The average wage for this career in Florida is $20.74 hourly or $43,140 annually.

Completion Requirements:

The entire program is 320 hours. Certain Adult Education Centers do not offer all components of the program.  Full completion of the program may be completed at a Technical College. Students can earn a certificate at the completion of the following Occupational Completion Points (OCPs):
